Salmon Forecasts

Looks like a good Salmon forecast for 2007. Kings are forecast to be down a little from last year, but up from recent historical norms.

Limited Entry Being Evaluated For Guides Statewide

"The Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish is evaluating the option of recommending the establishment of a sport fish guide limited entry program, and we would like to hear your comments."

Local Kenai Governments Band Together to Fight River Pollution

The Anchorage Daily News reports that the City of Soldotna and the Kenai Peninsula Borough have joined the city of Kenai with a view to reducing pollution in the river that is so much a focus of interest in Southcentral Alaska.

"Soldotna and the Kenai Peninsula Borough have tentatively agreed to form a river cleanup committee with the city of Kenai, with a mission of pressuring the state to address the river's long-standing fuel pollution problem and possibly enacting local measures to keep boats from soiling the water," the ADN wrote.
